Sinchew reported that Lee visited the Wong Tai Sin Temple on Tuesday, where he knelt in front of a Buddha statue, joined his hands, and prayed intensely for an extended period. He appeared distressed, dressed in light-colored clothing, with his gray hair unkempt.
Sohu described Lee as neglecting his appearance due to the stress of his fiancée’s legal troubles, a stark contrast to his vibrant attire and pink hair the previous year.
Wong, originally from mainland China, was arrested in February for overstaying her Hong Kong tourist visa.
Her initial trial took place on May 28, where she faced additional charges of using forged documents and providing false information by using counterfeit U.S. university diplomas to enter Hong Kong under a priority admission scheme.
During the trial, her lawyer said she had confessed to the charges voluntarily. It was determined following the trial that she would remain in custody until her next court date on Wednesday.
Lee has been visiting Wong daily at the Tai Lam Center for Women, where she is detained, devoting his time to support her. He also declared his plans to marry Wong after her release and has considered moving to mainland China if she is deported.
Their wedding, initially planned for the end of 2023, was delayed due to the death of Wong’s father.
Since the beginning of this year, Wong has also faced accusations of exchanging sexual favors for money and dishonesty regarding her affluent background and educational qualifications. Despite skepticism from critics, Lee continues to support her, denying her financial motives in their relationship as his assets are in his ex-wife’s name and his financial resources are limited.
Lee is renowned for his roles in "The Condor Heroes," "The Smiling, Proud Wanderer," "Journey to the West," and "Forensic Heroes."
He has three children from a previous marriage in the 1970s, all older than Wong.
