St Headline reported that Lee announced his intentions following the court session of Wong on Wednesday. He declared: "I will wait for her to get out of prison, and we will get married."
Lee also expressed his plans to visit Wong daily in prison and mentioned that he has directed his lawyer to proceed with all necessary legal steps, though he does not intend to file an appeal.
According to Dimsum Daily, Wong was sentenced to 25 months in jail for five offenses, including using forged documents, providing false information to enter Hong Kong, and overstaying her tourist visa. She admitted her guilt and accepted her sentence during the court proceedings.
Wong, a mainland China native, was initially arrested in February for exceeding the duration of her tourist visa in Hong Kong. Her first trial took place on May 28, during which she faced charges of using fake U.S. aviation college graduation certificates to fraudulently apply under the Immigration Department’s Mainland Talents and Professionals Scheme in Hong Kong.
In addition to his acclaimed roles in "The Condor Heroes," Lee’s acting career includes performances in "The Smiling, Proud Wanderer," "Journey to the West," and "Forensic Heroes." He has three children from a marriage in the 1970s, all older than Wong.
Lee and Wong, who met when he was 66, had originally planned to marry by the end of last year but postponed their wedding due to the death of Wong’s father.
