Hong Kong International Airport surpassed Singapore's Changi as world's best airport for immigration services this year following a passenger satisfaction survey done by British air transport rating organization Skytrax.

Last year, Changi Airport, known for its automated check-in, entry registration, and biometric authentication systems, held the title.

To compile the 2025 rankings, Skytrax conducted a survey assessing passengers' experiences across multiple factors, including waiting times, queuing systems, priority lanes, e-gate efficiency, and the courtesy and effectiveness of immigration staff.

Hong Kong International Airport, the city's sole international gateway, spans 1,900 hectares and has been operational since 1998. It currently connects to 220 destinations worldwide through 120 airlines.

As one of the world's busiest airports, Hong Kong International Airport handled over 53 million passengers last year.

To accommodate the growing number of travelers each year, immigration authorities have implemented a range of measures, including flexible staff deployment, workflow optimization, and the effective use of information technology.

Bahrain International Airport ranked third, followed by Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and Zurich Airport.
