Pax Thien, the 21-year-old Vietnamese-born son of Angelina Jolie, was hospitalized following an electric bike crash in Los Angeles.

Pax Thien collided with the rear of a stationary car at a red light while riding his electric bike without a helmet, around 5 p.m. on July 29, Page Six cites law enforcement sources as saying.

After the collision, the driver of the car reportedly got out to help Pax Thien before emergency responders arrived. Pax Thien was quickly transported to a hospital due to pain in his hip and head. Witnesses suggested he may have sustained a head injury.

Although there was initial worry about a minor brain bleed, his condition has stabilized. Angelina Jolie is with her son at the hospital. Both Jolie and Brad Pitt have yet to comment on the matter.

Page Six’s sources also reveal that this isn't the first time Pax Thien has had an accident on his electric bike, and his infrequent use of a helmet has greatly worried his friends.

Paparazzi first captured Pax Thien riding an electric bike in late May as he was leaving a tobacco shop in California, notably without a helmet.

Hello magazine reports that his bike, a Talaria Sting R MX4, is valued at around US$3,000. The magazine also highlights that in California, where Pax Thien resides, helmet laws depend on the vehicle type and the rider's age. His electric bike, classified as a Class 3 model, mandates helmet use for all riders.

Pax Thien was abandoned by his biological mother shortly after his birth in Ho Chi Minh City. Then placed in a local orphanage, where he was named Pham Quang Sang, he stayed there until being adopted by Jolie, 49, and Pitt, 61, in 2007.

Pax Thien shares a close bond with his mother, frequently joining her on film sets and helping with her business endeavors.

Pax Thien was last spotted with Jolie on July 12, enjoying a meal at a sushi restaurant in Los Angeles. Sources reveal that Pax Thien opted out of higher education and now works as a game artist using the alias "Embtto" to maintain privacy. His art is characterized by an abstract style, employing diverse materials and techniques.

Pax Thien intends to organize an art exhibition in Israel eventually. Beyond his art, he also assists his mother with her fashion brand, Atelier Jolie.
