Taiwanese actress Michelle Chen and Chinese actor Chen Xiao have become the top trending topic on Weibo amid rumors of a turbulent marriage leading to divorce.

Reports suggest that the couple's marriage broke down last year, and Chen is now seeking a divorce. Observers have noted that Chen has not been wearing his wedding ring for several months, reduced his interactions with Michelle on social media. He also has been rarely seen with her in public.

This is not the first time rumors of their separation have spread on social media. Previously, Chen was rumored to have had an affair with actress Jelly Lin, which allegedly prompted Michelle to ask for a divorce. The couple has consistently remained silent about their scandals. In a 2023 interview, Chen stated that he pays little attention to such rumors, considering them "dull."

Chen and Michelle first met while starring in the TV series "The Romance of the Condor Heroes." Chen later revealed on Sina that he had a secret crush on her and pursued her after the series concluded.

In 2015, he commissioned a statue of her character as a proposal gift to surprise her. The statue, designed to resemble Michelle, was presented to her on a rose-adorned yacht.

Michelle, 41, gained widespread recognition for her role in the 2011 coming-of-age romance film "You Are The Apple of My Eye." In 2021, she participated in the second season of the popular Chinese TV show "Sister Who Make Waves."

Chen, 37, is well-known for his roles in the TV series "Palace 3: The Lost Daughter," "Swordsman," and "Nothing Gold Can Stay."

Chen remains active in the film and TV industry, notably starring in the 2022 TV drama "A Dream Of Splendor" alongside actress Liu Yifei.

The couple got married in Beijing in 2016. They have an 8-year-old son, Chen Muchen, who is affectionately nicknamed "Little Star."
