Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur International Airport has secured the fourth spot on a list of the world's 10 most Instagrammed airports with over 600,000 hashtags, surpassing Singapore's Changi Airport at fifth place, a study found.

Los Angeles International Airport leads the rankings as the most Instagrammed airport globally, amassing a staggering 3.3 million hashtags. Following it are San Francisco International Airport (1.04 million) and London's Heathrow Airport (762,000), according to the study from Singapore-based travel site Miss Tourist.

The study began with a list of the 50 busiest airports globally based on passenger traffic. Researchers identified the most popular hashtags for each airport and then used Instagram to track the frequency of these hashtags, ultimately revealing the top 10 most Instagrammable airports.

Rounding out the top 10 are Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands, Dubai International Airport in the UAE, Tokyo Haneda Airport in Japan, Frankfurt Airport in Germany, and Gatwick Airport in the U.K.

Kuala Lumpur Airport is the largest and busiest airport in Malaysia, serving the city's wider metropolitan area.

Changi Airport is renowned for its state-of-the-art amenities, including duty-free shopping, an indoor rainforest, and the world's tallest indoor waterfall. It also boasts cutting-edge technology like automated check-in, biometric authentication, and AI-powered luggage transport systems.
