South Korean actress Song Hye Kyo’s real estate value surges by $4.5M

Local news outlets have reported that the value of one of actress Song Hye Kyo’s properties has appreciated by 6 billion won (US$4.5 million) since its purchase in 2021.

According to Znews, South Korean newspaper News1 cited Building Road Real Estate property developer, disclosing that Song acquired a building in the luxurious Hannam the Hill apartment complex in Seoul for 19.5 billion won in 2021.

The property, encompassing a land area of over 494 square meters, is now assessed at 25.5 billion won, boosting the actress’ real estate assets within a few years.

Reports indicate that the 1989-constructed building owned by Song underwent multiple renovations and was completely rebuilt in 2014, featuring two basement levels and four above-ground floors. It currently houses a restaurant and a studio.

In addition to this building, Song’s real estate holdings include an apartment in Seoul’s upscale Gangnam district, a residence in New York, and several other properties.

Song, 43, achieved global fame through her roles in hit television dramas such as "Autumn in My Heart," "All In," "Full House," "That Winter, the Wind Blows," "Descendants of the Sun," "Encounter," and "The Glory."

She was ranked 7th on Forbes magazine’s Korea Power Celebrity 40 list in 2017 and 6th in 2018.

Sources estimate Song’s net worth at over US$20 million, according to GQ India.
