Actor Aliff Aziz takes acting break to prioritize mental well-being post-divorce

"I’m in a phase where I need to rest for a while to take care of my mental health," the 33-year-old Aziz told reporters after his divorce trial, according to The Straits Times. "I’m now working towards self-reflection."

The actor requested privacy when asked about his current feelings towards Astillah, emphasizing his need for space and time to heal.

The divorce between Aziz and Astillah, 29, was finalized on June 13 in a Kuala Lumpur court, reported The Star. During the proceedings, Aziz consented to give Astillah full custody of their two children and chose not to pursue any disobedience claims against her.

Astillah had initiated the divorce proceedings after Aziz and Malaysian actress Ruhainies, 32, were arrested in March on charges of khalwat (close proximity), an offense that occurs when a man and a woman who are not married to each other and not related by blood are found together in a private setting.

Both Aziz and Astillah had then accused each other of having extramarital affairs.

This is the couple’s second divorce, with their initial separation occurring in May 2019 amid ongoing allegations of Aziz’s infidelity. However, they reconciled in 2020.
