As reported by The Straits Times, Ruhainies, 31, took to Instagram on Friday to express her desire for reconciliation with Astillah.
"I would like to sincerely apologize to (Bella) for everything that has happened," she said. "I would like to meet you to clear the air so we can close this chapter and move forward to be happy again."
According to The Star, although Bella has not publicly responded to Ruhainies’ gesture, her sister Didi Astillah has voiced skepticism about the actress’ intentions. In her statement, Didi accused Ruhainies of being a "manipulator" and "pretending to want reconciliation."
The apology from Ruhainies follows several incidents involving her and Aziz, including an April 24 disclosure by Sarah Yasmine, who identifies herself as Aziz’s lover. Claiming that she was "heartbroken" finding out the romantic ties between Aziz and Ruhainies, Yasmine released several text messages, allegedly from Ruhainies to Aziz, criticizing Bella for making the khalwat charges public.
"We have been patient enough, haven’t said anything for two weeks now," one message reads. "When will she [Bella] stop? We need to stop her from talking any more."
Prior to that, Ruhainies and Aziz were detained in Kuala Lumpur on March 9 by the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) for alleged khalwat (close proximity), which refers to a scenario where a woman and a man who are neither married nor related by blood are found together in a private setting.
This led to Bella, 29, initiating divorce proceedings, which Aziz, 33, refused to consent to.
This request for divorce marks Bella’s second attempt, as she first filed for divorce from Aziz in 2019 following repeated allegations of his infidelity but reconciled in 2020. The couple married in 2016.
