Robert De Niro lands in Vietnam for business cooperation

American actor and film producer Robert De Niro has arrived in Vietnam, embarking on a business trip while expressing enthusiasm for immersing himself in the local culture and cuisine.

The 81-year-old actor attended a media meeting in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday, dressed in a dark polo shirt and blazer. Accompanying him is his son Julian Henry De Niro, 29, whose mother is the actor’s former girlfriend, American actress-model Toukie Smith.

De Niro revealed that he planned to engage in real estate activities in both Ho Chi Minh City and the coastal city of Da Nang during his trip, and he also looked forward to exploring the local cuisine and culture.

During his interaction with the media, De Niro credited his business success to good fortune and the opportunity to collaborate with competent colleagues.

Born to a father of Irish and Italian descent and a mother of Dutch, English, French, and German descent, De Niro made his stage debut at age 10. He dropped out of high school at age 16 to pursue acting and subsequently appeared in several films and theater plays, receiving favorable critiques.

In 1973, his significant and long-standing collaboration with American filmmaker Martin Scorsese began with the film "Mean Streets."

Over his career, De Niro has won two Academy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and a Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award. Many of his films are considered classics of American cinema.

De Niro co-founded the Tribeca Film Festival in 2002 and remains involved in various business ventures.
