Chinese auto brand GAC Motor, which sells gasoline-powered vehicles, has entered Vietnam through a distributor.

It is unclear when GAC Motor will begin selling its products but the company will participate in the Vietnam Motor Show, the largest auto show in the country, in October in Ho Chi Minh City.

GAC in China sells its own cars and also partner with Toyota and Honda to sell their cars.

Its lineup includes four sedans, five SUVs and four MPVs.

It sold 406,500 units of its own last year, accounting for 1.8% of the market.

But its total sales (including partnership with other brands) was around 2.5 million, roughly the same as BYD, the best-selling brand in China last year, according to Car News China.

Most of the cars sold by GAC were made by Toyota and Honda.

In Vietnam GAC cars will be distributed by Malaysia-based Tan Chong, which used to distribute Nissan and MG cars.

GAC’s brand Aion will also begin selling electric cars in Vietnam this month.
