Both Vietnam and Myanmar are having three points after victories against Taiwan. A draw in this match will take both teams to the U23 Asian Cup 2022, while a defeat will most likely result in elimination for either team.

If the result is a draw after 90 minutes, a penalty shootout will decide who are first in group I. Even if Vietnam lose the shootout, they will still have four points and qualify as one of the best second-placed teams.

Vietnam were the runners up at the tournament in 2018, but were eleminated early in 2020.
