Coach Park Hang-seo kept comments very brief after Vietnam managed a 1-0 victory against Myanmar in a U23 Asian Cup qualifier match Tuesday night.

"I don’t have much to say about this game. In the first half, Myanmar filled the midfield with many players there, which caused Vietnam trouble and we lost the ball many times.

"Thanks to the substitutions in the second half, we were able to improve the situation," Park said at the post-match conference.

In the first half, Vietnam struggled to create scoring chances against Myanmar. After the break, Park made two substitutions and one of them, Ho Thanh Minh, headed in the lone goal of the match.

"Although Minh still needs to improve more, he has many good qualities. If he continues to develop, I believe he will become a great striker for Vietnam," Park said.

After two victories against Taiwan and Myanmar, Vietnam top group I and have qualified for the U23 Asian Cup 2022, which will be hosted by Uzbekistan between June 1 and 19.

Coach Park will now return to the national team to prepare for upcoming games of World Cup qualifiers. The team will play Japan on November 11 and Saudi Arabia five days later.
