Ariana Grande stuns in camellia dress by Vietnamese designer Tran Hung

The dress was prominently featured as the thumbnail for a video clip showcasing her singing her song "We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)" during an appearance on "Saturday Night Live," a show aired by the American broadcaster NBC. Grande enhanced the dress with a natural-looking makeup style, emphasizing her pink lips as the focal point of her appearance.

The pink silk velvet dress, part of Tran Hung’s Autumn/Winter 2023 fashion collection, is adorned with Miyuki bead embroidery that creates camellia flower patterns and was meticulously crafted over a two-week period.

The designer revealed that Grande’s stylist Mimi Cuttrell initiated contact with him in January to commission the dress for the singer.

"After noticing my collection at the London Fashion Week, Grande’s team found my work well-suited for the singer," Tran Hung expressed. "Consequently, they specifically requested a custom-made design."

He stated that Grande was pleased with the initial design and only requested adjustments for the dress to fit her measurements, without needing any further modifications.

"I am elated and feel privileged that an internationally acclaimed artist like Grande appreciates my designs," Tran Hung remarked.

Grande, 31, embarked on her career in the arts on Broadway before transitioning to television and releasing her debut album "Yours Truly" in 2013. Her career has been marked with numerous awards, including accolades from the Grammys, MTV Video Music Award, and the AMA.

The song "We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)" is featured in her most recent album "Eternal Sunshine," released on March 8, signifying her comeback after a hiatus of four years.

Tran Hung, 36, has become well-known since he finished as the runner-up in "Project Runway Vietnam 2015," a reality TV competition aimed at discovering and nurturing fashion design talent.

Since founding his own label in 2017, Tran Hung has unveiled numerous collections, with 12 making their debut at the London Fashion Week.

His designs have been chosen by celebrities across the globe, including Filipino actress Heart Evangelista, British TV presenter Vick Hope, and Chinese actress-singer Huang Shengyi.
