The Philippines has clinched the "Destination of the Year" at the Routes Asia 2025 Awards held in Perth, Australia.

The Routes Asia Awards recognize excellence in air service development and marketing across the Asia-Pacific region, honoring collaboration among airlines, airports, and tourism authorities.

Routes Asia is an annual forum that brings together aviation and tourism stakeholders to shape the future of air services.

The award highlights the Philippines' strong leadership in expanding air connectivity through strategic marketing and sustainable tourism initiatives.

As of late February, 46 new domestic routes and 47 international routes have been launched by the country, improving access to popular destinations such as Siargao, Batanes, Panglao, and Coron.

With over 36,000 kilometers of coastline, the Philippines is renowned for its beach tourism.

Last year, the country was named Asia's Leading Beach Destination at the World Travel Awards.
