Immigration officials in Indonesian resort island Bali have deported an Italian man for having sex in public.

The man, identified only as LS, who entered with a visa on arrival, is also banned from returning to Bali for six months, the Indonesian National Police said at a press briefing.

On September 9 he was found engaging in sexual activities with a woman in front of a house in the Seminyak area.

They were caught on a security camera, and local police identified him and took action.

They arrested him on September 23 and transferred him to Ngurah Rai Immigration for deportation.

He told the police he had met a local woman at a club and they decided to find a hotel to have sex.

But they evidently could not wait to reach a hotel.

This year 227 foreign nationals have been deported from Bali for various offenses, including overstaying their visas and involvement in criminal activities.
