The Huawei Mate XT, the world’s first tri-fold smartphone, has been customized by Caviar, renowned for its luxury tech devices, with a bespoke 18k gold body and is priced at US$100,000.

The solid gold phone weighs one kilogram, and was designed for a wealthy client in the U.S., according to Phone Arena.

Despite its absence on Caviar's website, this high-priced model, the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate, showcases its luxurious gold design. CNN noted that the device was released in September 2024, just hours after Apple introduced the iPhone 16.

First released in China at a starting price of around $2,800, it drew instant attention, amassing 1.3 million pre-orders within seven hours, according to Nikkei Asia. Shenzhen-based Huawei soon plans to launch the phone internationally.
