Brazil’s legendary striker Ronaldo Nazario de Lima recently revealed that he got tired of football and has invested his time into tennis more.

The winner of the 1994 and 2002 World Cup said during the Mouratoglou Annual Charity Gala in France that football has become "boring" for him as he found it difficult to sit through 90 minutes of the game.

Nicknamed The Phenomenon and R9, Ronaldo is considered one of the greatest players of all time. However, Sportsbrief reported that recently R9 has switched his interests to tennis, his new passion.

Ronaldo explained that tennis attracted him in a way that football could no longer do as it gave him an experience that went beyond a football game.

"I think today I love tennis more than football. It’s unbelievable, I can’t watch football matches, I find them very boring. But I can watch tennis for five hours, it’s crazy," Ronaldo said in a video of Tennis Majors.

The former football star revealed that he has been practicing tennis regularly.

"I’m training three times a week, I’m still very competitive. I want to be better every day, but my backhand, my God. I think that’s the only thing Patrick [Mouratoglou] can’t fix," the former Real Madrid and Barcelona player added.
