In Ontario, Canada, where I reside, local regulations provide a framework for responsible pet ownership, covering essential aspects such as vaccination, the use of muzzles and leashes, and the proper disposal of pet waste in public spaces.
Ontario does not only mandate pet registration, but acquiring a certificate of training for pet ownership is also a prerequisite for bringing a pet into one's home. This policy ensures that both pet owners and those providing pets understand their legal responsibilities and the consequences of any incidents involving their animals. Such measures are not only about following the law but about fostering a safe and respectful environment for all community members, both human and animal.
And any fines for pet-related violations are not cheap. Letting your dog bite other people, especially children, is a serious offense.
I wholeheartedly support stricter enforcement of pet management regulations. As Ho Chi Minh City considers implementing a pet registration system, I see this as a positive step toward raising awareness and ensuring that pet ownership is synonymous with responsibility and care.
And like in Ontario, I think Vietnam should impose a ban on Pitbull, and a heavy fine for those who sell or raise this aggressive species, to prevent deadly dog attacks that have happened in different places in the country.
