"Spring arrives in northern Vietnam in March, making it the best time to explore its hill country," the magazine recommends.
From early March till May, northern provinces usually enjoy warm sunshine and springtime blooms, making it an ideal choice for tourists who can explore indigenous villages across famous tourist towns such as Sa Pa and Moc Chau.
"Don’t forget to drop by the mountainous villages of Giang Ta and Lo Chai in Sa Pa with their lush rice paddies and craggy rocks," the magazine exhorts.
It also recommends communicating with the Hmong and Dao ethnic minority groups who account for largest population segment in Sa Pa.
Mai Chau Valley is another fine option for hiking with the 700-year-old Lac Village, home to the White Thai people.
Most travelers just do overnight trips, but hiking the whole valley can take up to a week.
March would be an ideal time to visit Vietnam with the country reopening inbound and outbound tourism under new normal conditions, allowing foreign tourists to tour the country freely.
The list of places for long holidays, compiled by travel editors of Wanderlust, includes Jordan, South Island in New Zealand, Colombia and the Nile in Egypt. India’s Karnataka state and Wilhelmina Bay in South Pole are best choices to collect wildlife experiences, the magazine says.
Lisse in the Netherlands and Japan are great places to visit and take in the stunning sight of spring blossoms in full bloom in March, it adds.
