Which Southeast Asian cities are most searched by American tourists this year?

Vietnam's Da Nang, Thailand's Bangkok, and the Philippines's Manila are among the five most-searched Asian cities by American travelers this year, according to online travel platform Agoda.

Da Nang topped the list with a staggering year-on-year search increase of 1,538%, while Bangkok ranked third despite a 10% decline in searches and Manila placed fourth with a 21% drop, based on Agoda's accommodation search data for January 2025.

Known for its ancient temples, sandy beaches, and month-long international fireworks festival, Da Nang has been growing in popularity among foreign tourists.

In 2024, Vietnam was the most searched country by American tourists, with a 174% year-on-year increase, according to Agoda.

In early 2025, the U.S. topped the list of the 10 countries with the most searches for Vietnam tourism, according to Google’s Destination Insights.

The U.S. was also among Vietnam's top 10 sources of foreign visitors last year, and the second-largest source of visitors to the Philippines.

American tourists do not need a visa to enter Thailand or the Philippines.
