The five-star InterContinental Singapore has been offering a first-of-its-kind package called "Rain Resist Bliss," which will reimburse one night's stay for guests whose holiday is ruined by heavy rain.

Guests will be reimbursed if rain "exceeds 120 cumulative minutes within any 4-hour block of time during daylight hours," according to CNN Travel.

However, the policy will only be applied to those staying at suites.

Prices at the hotel start at $600 a night for junior suites and $4,000 for presidential suites.

The refund comes as a voucher, which must be spent at the hotel within a week, The Strait Times reported.

It rains an average of 171 days of the year in Singapore.

According to Singapore’s meteorological service, while there is no distinct wet or dry season in the city-state, it's often particularly wet in November, December, and January.

Andreas Kraemer, general manager of InterContinental Singapore Hotel, told CNN the idea of a rain insurance package was born when he was chatting with a group of friends who were planning a vacation.

One of them joked that their holiday depends largely on good weather conditions.
