A group of workers in Ky Anh Town was returning to their rooms in Ky Thinh Ward at around 5 p.m. on Thursday when they discovered Pham Thi Ngan, 40, lying on the ground motionless. There were multiple dog bites on her body. A check revealed that the victim died hours earlier.
Authorities said Van was bitten by a dog weighing 20 kg, owned by Le Van Mung, the landlord of the apartment complex for the workers, while she was feeding the animal. At the time of the incident, the landlord and the other workers living at the apartment were not present.
The dog was raised by Mung for years. As he was away from work, he asked the workers to take care of the dog.
Ngan just moved in as a construction worker for around a week.
An investigation is ongoing.
