Six people were found dead following a loud explosion at a wood production company in the southern province of Dong Nai on Wednesday.

At 9 a.m. a loud explosion believed to be caused by a boiler malfunction occurred at the Binh Minh Wood Production Company in Thien Tan Commune, Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai province.

The explosion resulted in the deaths of six individuals on the scene. According to a local official, seven others were injured in the incident.

At the scene, part of the wood facility had collapsed, with corrugated iron roofs strewn about.

"I was in my house when I heard a loud explosion. When I arrived at the site, I witnessed a horrifying scene—debris scattered everywhere and several bodies lying in the yard," recounted Hung, a local resident.

According to the family of a deceased victim, the workers had just repaired the boiler and it exploded about three minutes later.
"My team was working around 300 meters away and we could still see the flames. At that point, everyone started running in panic."

Dr. Nguyen Tuong Quang, deputy director of Thong Nhat General Hospital in Dong Nai, mentioned that they are currently treating five individuals injured in the explosion, with one patient suffering from multiple injuries.

The hospital has called on all available staff to assist in the treatment. The Dong Nai Department of Health has coordinated resources from major hospitals and other medical facilities to aid the explosion victims.

Binh Minh Wood Production and Trading Company, with over a decade of operation and foreign direct investment, is engaged in the production and trade of wood products.
