The trip from Nov. 29 to Dec. 3., which will also include several bilateral activities in the UAE, will be made at the invitation of the UAE government and the Turkish government, according to a communique of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
COP28 is scheduled from Nov. 30 to Dec. 12 in Dubai with more than 70,000 participants, including government leaders, heads of non-government organizations, businesses, youth delegates and other related parties.
Vietnam and Turkey established diplomatic relations on June 7, 1978. Turkey became one of Vietnam's first business partners in the Middle East. Bilateral trade revenues reached more than US$2 billion in 2022, including $1.6 billion of Vietnamese exports.
Turkey is investing in 36 projects pledged with $974.3 million in Vietnam. Its company IC Ictas led the Vietur joint venture to win a contract in August to build a passenger terminal worth VND35 trillion ($1.44 billion) at Long Thanh airport, slated to be Vietnam's largest.
Around 200 Vietnamese are living in Turkey. Vietnam sent $100,000 and two rescue teams as aid to Turkey's earthquake disaster in February.
