If parents pay tuition the whole year or have many children attending school, they are offered a 5-10% discount. If paid by term or quarter, total tuition fees may increase at the same proportion.
Apart from tuition, many schools separately regulate deposits and enrollment fees. This amount is commonly VND20-50 million, except at BIS and BVIS, where it is up to VND70 million.
Other fees that parents must pay include uniforms, meals, facilities, and school buses, ranging from VND10-40 million per category, depending on the school.
Hanoi has 2.3 million kindergarten and high school students, the largest number in the country. According to the Department of Education and Training, 40 foreign-invested schools have currently enrolled a total of more than 10,500 students.
ISC Research, a source of data about schools in the world, perceived the increased proportion of international schools by about 5%, in the top 5 in the world. For one of the reasons, the middle class (spending US$11-110 per day) has gradually increased.
