Six Laos nationals were arrested after transporting 120 kg of drugs from over the border to central Ha Tinh Province on Monday.

At around 10 a.m. Monday, border guards in Huong Son District stopped a 16-seat car, with a Laos license plate, running through the border over suspicions of carrying banned goods.

Six people in the vehicle intended to escape the vehicle, but were captured by authorities instead.

Authorities then found several packages of drugs hidden inside the vehicle, totaling 121 kg. The drugs were determined to have originated from Laos, and were worth tens of billions of Vietnamese dong.

The suspects have been apprehended to be investigated for drug trafficking. Their identities have not been announced.
