Smoke and flames reportedly started billowing out of the house, located on Luu Huu Phuoc street, at 5 p.m. At around the same time, neighborhood witnesses saw a young man rushing out of the house.
Motorbikes parked on the house’s first floor caught fire shortly afterwards, intensifying the flames.
Fire trucks and dozens of firefighters were dispatched to the site, and they put the fire under control after around five minutes.
When police entered the burned house, they found the bodies of a woman and two children. Bruises were reportedly found on the woman’s body.
Witnesses said they heard people shouting and arguing with one another inside the house just before it caught fire. Investigators thus suspected the young man of attacking the tenants before setting the house on fire, and he has been brought to the local police station for questioning.
