Hanoians scale barbed wire fence amid coronavirus lockdown

The entire Chuong Duong Ward of Hoan Kiem District, home to 23,000 residents, has been locked down starting July 31 following the detection of a high-risk coronavirus case.
To control the area and stop people from coming into close contact with outsiders, local authorities installed barbed wire along Hong Ha Street on the afternoon of Aug 1.

Groceries and goods delivered to people within the locked-down area must be gathered at a checkpoint on Cau Dat Street for sanitization. But many have tried to send their goods through shortcuts, which is prevented by local police.
