According to Malay Mail, the fan unexpectedly went into labor while standing in line for the concert on Saturday. Many witnesses recorded the incident, and a video uploaded to the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu showed the crowd cheering and clapping as paramedics wheeled the woman away on a stretcher, covered with a blanket.
The incident quickly went viral, sparking discussions about the fan’s commitment to attending the concert despite her condition. While some expressed concern for the baby's well-being, others showed understanding.
"It’s possible that she was still a while away from the due date but got contractions due to excitement and gave birth," a netizen commented.
According to The Straits Times, some online users suggested naming the baby Jielun–after Chou’s Chinese name–if it’s a boy, or Kunling–the Chinese name of Chou’s wife–Hannah Quinlivan, if it’s a girl.
Chou, 45, is a renowned Taiwanese singer-songwriter who debuted in 2001. He has since achieved significant success, selling over 30 million records and establishing himself as one of Taiwan’s top-selling artists.
Beyond his music career, Chou is also recognized as an actor, businessman, and investor.
The Kuala Lumpur concert is part of his Carnival World Tour, which is scheduled to continue until February 23, 2025.
