Foreigners wait over half an hour to collect baggage at Vietnam's busiest airport

After landing at Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, I spent nearly half an hour waiting for my luggage at the baggage carousel, surrounded by crowds of foreign tourists experiencing the same situation.

My flight from Da Nang last week was delayed by 30 minutes, resulting in a later-than-expected landing. Upon reaching the terminal, I saw long lines of passengers from previous flights still waiting to collect their bags. Many even screamed due to the long wait time.

My flight was informed to expect around a half-hour wait for picking up luggage due to overcrowding. Some foreign tourists, visibly fatigued, sat on the floor checking their phones or searched for luggage carts.

Several other flights landed at the same time as a sea of people continued to flood the baggage area that led to chaotic scenes at Vietnam's busiest airport.

Recently, when I landed at Changi Airport in Singapore, I only took around two minutes to get my luggage.

Last year, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam explained that Tan Son Nhat's terminal was built years ago, and its baggage carousels have struggled to keep up with the rising number of passengers using the airport.

Do you agree that Tan Son Nhat airport should improve the baggage handling process?
