According to Chinatimes, Zhang attended this year's Venice Film Festival as the only Chinese jury member. The festival, the oldest of its kind in Europe, was first held in 1932. This year marks the 81st edition, running from Aug. 28 to Sep. 7, with French actress Isabelle Huppert serving as jury president.
She attended the AIDS Research Foundation charity dinner, a part of the Venice Film Festival, in a deep red gown designed by Caroline Scheufele. The dress's elegant cut highlighted the actress’s figure, complemented by bright red lipstick, vintage-style waves, and diamond hoop earrings from the Lace collection.
On Weibo, viewers praised Zhang's sophisticated style with comments like: "The dress is elegant and noble," "Her red dress shines like a star in Venice," "She looks absolutely captivating," "A true international superstar," and "I must admit, I’m really envious of her figure."
Zhang's personal life has also been in the spotlight. In October 2023, she announced her divorce from singer Wang Feng after eight years of marriage.
Recent reports suggest that Wang's alleged infidelity led to the split. On September 3, Zhuo Wei, known as China’s top paparazzo, revealed that Zhang’s brother discovered Wang with another woman. This incident prompted Zhang to file for divorce. Her brother had previously warned her against the marriage, but she chose not to listen.
Zhuo Wei also mentioned that Zhang is now collaborating with "a powerful figure with resources and connections, capable of revitalizing her career and helping her reach new heights." Since her divorce, the actress has been focusing on her career.
Both Zhang and Wang have yet to comment on these recent developments.
Zhang, 45, gained international fame for her role in the 2000 film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," which was nominated for 10 Academy Awards. She has also won numerous awards for her role in the 2013 film "The Grandmaster."
Wang, 53, is a renowned rock musician and was a coach on "The Voice of China." The couple married in 2015, marking Zhang’s first marriage and Wang’s third.
