Sinchew reported that according to sources close to Wang, the businessman has sent out wedding invitations to a select group of friends and family members. The ceremony is expected to be a private affair, held at a hotel in Beijing.
Wang and Ma are reportedly busy preparing for the big day, with Wang’s two children from his previous marriage to Hsu also joining him in Beijing.
The announcement of Wang’s upcoming wedding has sparked controversy, with some accusing him of hypocrisy, as Wang was seen crying over Hsu’s death and expressing that he would die for her, shortly after her family confirmed her passing on Feb. 3. However, other social media users on Weibo suggest that Wang needs to move forward, citing that it is impossible to live in the past, especially after his divorce several years ago.
Wang has yet to comment on the criticism.
Hsu, famous for her roles in dramas such as "Meteor Garden," "Mars," and "Summer’s Desire," passed away at the age of 49 in Japan due to complications from pneumonia.
Wang, 44, and Hsu married in 2011 but divorced in 2021, citing "irreconcilable differences." Following their divorce, Hsu reconnected with her former boyfriend, South Korean musician DJ Koo, 55, and married him in Feb. 2022.
Wang registered his marriage to Ma, a 26-year-old businesswoman and online influencer, in May 2024. It has been reported that Ma was also previously divorced.
