In a video shared on social media on Sunday, Du, 42, explained that having a Cesarean section at her age made recovery more challenging than her previous births, requiring her to stay in the hospital longer. She said Zhang’s attentive care has been a great comfort, easing her physical pain.
Zhang even prepared her favorite dumplings himself, adjusting the seasoning to her preference. While the nurses provided postnatal care, he stayed with her, helping her with mobility tasks limited by her post-surgical discomfort.
Du’s video has received thousands of comments praising Zhang’s dedication, with many noting his role as a responsible and caring husband and father.
Some of the comments read: "When I gave birth, it was either my mom cooking or hospital food," "Now I see why she married someone much older," and "He truly is a caring husband and father."
