Taiwanese actress Ady An is working to rebuild her life after her husband, Levo Chan, the former CEO of Macau's Tak Chun Group, was sentenced to 13 years in prison.

The verdict, delivered on Nov. 29 by Macau's Court of Final Appeal, came after Chan was convicted of illegal gambling operations, money laundering, and fraud. Chan, who was arrested in January 2022, was also fined along with five accomplices, with the total penalties reaching HKD1.8 billion (about US$231 million), according to Next Apple.

Despite the emotional toll of the ruling, An has focused on staying strong for her two young children, aged four and five. A close friend of the actress shared that while An had no involvement in her husband's criminal activities, she has been deeply affected by the situation. She has chosen to remain low-key and devote herself to raising her children with resilience and strength.

"As her friend, I truly feel for her," the source shared. "An had no involvement in her husband’s case, yet she has endured stress and heartache. Despite this, she remains resilient, focusing on her kids with incredible strength."

The source also mentioned that An has found support from friends. In September, she attended the wedding of fellow Taiwanese actress Joe Chen in Malaysia, after initially feeling hesitant. Thanks to Chen’s encouragement, Ady was able to reconnect with friends and find some comfort.

An, 44, started her acting career in 2001 with the TV series "Marmalade Boy" and became well-known for her role in "The Outsiders" (2004).

She later gained fame across both Taiwan and mainland China, starring in popular dramas like "The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber" and "Autumn’s Concerto". After meeting Levo Chan in 2014, the couple married in 2017, and An gradually scaled back her acting career to focus on family life.

Before Chan's arrest, the couple led a lavish lifestyle, with An enjoying luxury gifts from her husband, including real estate, diamonds, and expensive items. In 2021, Chan gifted his wife four properties in Macau worth HKD600 million (around US$76 million) and a 10.22-carat diamond for their daughter’s first birthday.

Chan, 52, was initially sentenced to 14 years in prison at his first trial in 2022, facing 34 charges related to his illegal operations, which were linked to approximately US$4.5 billion in transactions and an estimated US$200 million in profits, as reported by Macao Times.
