Datin Paduka Seri Dayang Hajah Mariam binti Abdul Aziz, the former wife of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei and Prince Mateen’s mother, visited singer-actor Wu Chun during the Lunar New Year.

This event was highlighted by The Straits Times, which noted Wu’s Instagram post on Saturday that detailed the visit by the former royal to his residence in Brunei, with his wife Lin Liying and their children also participating in the festivities.

"And it’s a huge honor to have our kind and lovely Datin Paduka Seri Hajah Mariam visit our house during the festive season," Wu wrote.

Born into a family of Chinese descent in Bandar Seri Begawan, Wu reportedly has a close relationship with the Brunei Royal Family. As reported by Yahoo! News, Wu shared an anecdote from his childhood on a TV show, recounting how the Sultan of Brunei’s sister once proposed to adopt him for a large sum of money, an offer his father declined.

The Star reported that Wu’s holiday activities included time spent in Melbourne in addition to his stay in Brunei. These activities featured visits to family members, a tennis match with Taiwanese music singer Jay Chou, and attending the "Eras Tour" concert by American pop star Taylor Swift in the Australian city.

Wu also disclosed spending a portion of the holiday in Shanghai, where he presently resides.

According to the South China Morning Post, Wu, 45, made his mark in the music industry with the Taiwanese boy band Fahrenheit in 2005. He left the band in 2011 to concentrate on his acting career, a move that led other members to pursue individual projects, effectively putting Fahrenheit on an indefinite hiatus.

His father Wu Jingtian is a prominent real-estate mogul in Brunei, and their family owns one of the nation’s top car agencies.
