Actor steals Mexican Miss Cosmo contestant’s handbag at Da Lat event

Angela reported that her handbag, which contained a camera, around VND40 million (US$1,510) in cash, credit cards and personal items, had gone missing early on Saturday morning at the town’s Lam Vien Square.

After examining the scene and camera footage, local police identified the culprit as Nguyen Lam Thai, a 25-year-old actor from Ho Chi Minh City who was also attending the same event.

At the police station, Thai admitted to the theft and returned all the stolen items.

Angela said she appreciated the authorities' swift work after getting her belongings back. She is one of nearly 80 Miss Cosmo International contestants participating in a series of activities involving the World Tea Fest 2025 in Lam Dong Province, where Da Lat is located.

Police said Thai will be handled in accordance with the law.
