Authorities investigate beauty queen Nam Em's unverified allegations about celebrities

Lam Dinh Thang, the director of the department, confirmed on Tuesday that they are aware of the buzz generated by Nam Em’s live streams on social media, wherein she made several accusations against well-known individuals without naming anyone specifically.

"We are looking into, reviewing, and will respond shortly," he assured.

In her recent live streams on her personal Facebook page, which boasts over 800,000 followers, Nam Em has been actively engaging her audience, drawing tens of thousands of viewers to each broadcast.

During these sessions, she alleged that a male celebrity took advantage of her emotionally and used her to enhance his public image. She recounted an incident where, after celebrating her birthday, this man proposed to his now-wife at an awards show shortly thereafter, wearing the same outfit. She also mentioned that this man had previously expressed a wish to father children with her.

Furthermore, Nam Em insinuated that a well-known Vietnamese female celebrity had used drugs and that another female celebrity, who is expecting a child, had previously dated her boyfriend.

She also claimed that exposing the entertainment industry would reveal a lack of independent wealth among its members, suggesting their luxury lifestyles are funded by wealthy patrons. She said if there were anyone in the industry who wasn’t a mistress of a wealthy patron, she would "walk with [her] head," an expression implying that she was very confident.

"Where, do you suppose, do all the fancy clothes and luxury brand items they possess originate from? The entertainment industry’s earnings aren’t substantial enough for them to afford such high-end products."

These allegations have led to widespread speculation and outrage, with the majority of the public audience accusing the beauty queen of indirectly tarnishing the reputations of several celebrities.

Born Nguyen Thi Le Nam Em, the 28-year-old beauty queen, has achieved notable success in beauty pageants, having secured a place in the top 10 at Miss Universe Vietnam 2015, the top 8 at Miss Earth 2016, and the top 10 at Miss World Vietnam 2022.

She is pursuing a career as a singer, actress, and model.
