No luxury car brand will be present at major auto exhibition Vietnam Motor Show 2024 next month, as high-end automakers opt for different promotional strategies.

Volvo, the last luxury brand to consider participating, has confirmed its non-attendance, following Volkswagen’s withdrawal. Audi, Mercedes, Lexus, and Porsche had already chosen not to sign up.

While luxury brands have been part of the show in previous years, industry insiders say that this year they are focusing on exclusive events tailored to target potential customers directly.

From October 23-27, VMS will feature 19 car and motorbike brands, including Toyota, Mitsubishi, and Honda. First-time participants GAC, Skoda, BYD, and UM Motorcycles will also join the exhibition.

GAC, Skoda, BYD and UM Motorcycles will be the first-time participants this year.

The show is expected to highlight electric vehicles, with BYD being the only fully electric car brand. Other manufacturers are likely to present hybrid models, ranging from mild-hybrid to full-hybrid vehicles.
