The blaze started around 11 a.m. in the 1000 square-meter building of a 3D jewelry company located on Nguyen Tuan Street. The fire originated on the sixth floor, which houses the manufacturing area.
Employees who first detected the fire attempted to extinguish it but were unsuccessful. As the fire intensified, many people in the building quickly evacuated using the stairs.
Smoke billowed from the building, affecting a nearby school and residential area.
An employee recounted hearing numerous loud explosions as the fire raged.
"In the urgency, I fled outdoors, abandoning all my personal items. I'm just hoping they haven't been burned or damaged," he said.
Firefighting units, including many fire trucks and nearly 20 firefighters, promptly responded to the emergency. They efficiently doused the flames with water hoses and successfully prevented the fire from spreading further. After 20 minutes, the fire was killed.
Bui Truc Anh, the director of the company, attributed the fire to an electrical short circuit in the manufacturing area. The incident did not result in any serious damage, and all employees were reported safe.
