Chinese celebrities show support for Vietnamese singer’s Shanghai pho restaurant

Chi Pu, 30, is an actress and pop singer. She was honored on the Forbes' list of the Asia Pacific's 100 most influential digital stars in 2020.
Her pho restaurant officially opened on Oct. 13, helping her to further establish herself in China after making her debut in the country by appearing in various variety shows.

Many of her Chinese celebrity friends have dropped by and left their signatures to promote the eatery.

Rapper Amber, one of the singer’s closest Chinese celebrity friends, visited the eatery on the opening day. The rapper said Chi Pu had agreed to let her eat at the restaurant for "the rest of [her] life."

Supermodel Qu Ying (far R) was also present to show her support. The supermodel and Chi Pu became close after both participated in the Chinese reality show "Sisters Who Make Waves."

Singer-songwriter Leo Li (far L) also joined the Vietnamese singer on the opening day. She enjoyed a bowl of pho bo (beef noodles), served with a poached egg, a set of Vietnamese-style bagel twists, and a cup of lotus tea.

Actress-singer Celina Jade (C) did not miss the chance to drop by and show her support for Chi Pu.

Chi Pu served and talked to the customers herself on the opening day.
Hundreds of her fans queued in lines under the rain to wait for their turns and to show support for the singer.

Other friends of Chi Pu also showed up at the restaurant.

They gave Chi Pu feedback on the restaurant’s quality.

Many people visited the restaurant during its soft opening starting late-September and uploaded their reviews on social media platforms.
There have been a lot of compliments about the pho broth, which is made by simmering ox bones, herbs, and spices for 12 hours.

The eatery can host 10 customers at once. There is a common table placed in the center of the room and surrounded by seats for guests.
