Vietnam were considered the least experienced team in U23 Asian Cup. Without the overage players, plus a new coach, Vietnam are expected to have a tough game against Thailand.

The team even suffered another big disadvantage when 10 players got diarrhea. Key defender Nguyen Thanh Binh and midfielder Ly Cong Hoang Anh couldn't recover in time for the game.
