According to People magazine, Sudha attended the event on Monday wearing a necklace that showcases 180 carats of diamonds, including a 25-carat heart-shaped diamond, three 20-carat heart-shaped diamonds representing her husband and their two children, and 21 round diamonds.

The necklace was a gift from her husband to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.

The Independent reported that Sudha also wore a 23-carat yellow diamond ring and a 20-carat heart-shaped diamond ring, both from her personal collection.

Completing her ensemble was a custom-embroidered gown designed by Indian couturier Tarun Tahiliani, which took 80 artisans 4,500 hours to create. Aligned with the event’s theme of "The Garden of Time," the gown features "hand-carved mother-of-pearl flowers, symbolizing luminosity and permanence, while 3D butterflies symbolize the cycle of life," according to a press release.

This year marks Sudha’s second appearance at the Met Gala, following her debut in 2021.

Sudha, 46, serves as the director of the MEIL Group, a Hyderabad-based conglomerate co-founded by her husband P.V. Krishna Reddy and his uncle P. P. Reddy in 1989. The conglomerate operates in multiple sectors, including hydrocarbons, electric buses, telecom, power, transport, and manufacturing.

She also chairs the Sudha Reddy Foundation.

Her husband P.V. Krishna Reddy, 54, has a net worth estimated at US$2.2 billion, according to Forbes as of May 8, 2024.
