As the media ambassador for the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, which took place March 10-14 in Dak Lak Province, H’Hen Nie’s role was to promote the local coffee culture, the essence of her ethnic Rade group, and also the Central Highlands.
H’Hen Nie attracted a lot of attention at the festival when she wore a brocaded ao dai and a coffee berry crown that was made by her and the team.
The team said H’Hen Nie picked every single coffee berry to put on the crown, along with six coffee branches for decoration.
"Coffee has always been a part of me and the people of Dak Lak," she told local media. "This crown made from coffee berries is my way of honoring the importance of coffee to my hometown."
The eighth Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival had the participation of 472 coffee shops and brands who served free coffee to customers. There were also many other activities related to coffee.
H’Hen Nie, 30, who comes from the Rade ethnic minority, was the winner of Miss Universe Vietnam in the 2017 contest. She represented Vietnam in the 2018 Miss Universe, where she placed in the top five.
