The Malaysian man uploaded a video to his TikTok account, in which his family members were seen failing to take the coins out of the bottle as it was too full, reported The Strait Times.

One of the family then had to use a saw to cut the bottle in half and took the coins out.

Hamid, 30, said it took four people - his wife, sister, sister-in-law, and himself - three hours to count the coins, a total of 5,360 ringgit (a ringgit is divided into 100 sens), enough for him to buy a new iPhone 14, according to the Malaysian news site The Rakyat Post.

The man then had to take the coins to six banks to exchange for cash notes to buy the phone, explaining that each bank’s machine could only count part of his coin collection.

Hamid started saving the coins as a hobby. He put the coins in mugs or biscuit containers at the beginning, but the amount soon increased and he had to store them in the large water bottle.
