The singer announced the news on Sunday through a post on her social media account.

"I want to publicly announce this so my beloved do not have to doubt or worry about my marriage life anymore," she wrote.

According to Xuan, she and Thang Ngo separated almost a year ago, only a few months after their wedding. The process was smooth as the couple did not legally register their marriage, thus, they did not have to deal with too much paperwork, she said.

She added that she married Thang without thoroughly considering their relationship, and she said that she then began suffering from depression afterwards.

The singer said she would take this "failed" relationship as a lesson for herself in the future. In the meantime, she is now prioritizing her music career.

Prior to Xuan's announcement, rumors about the couple's discord began surfacing at the beginning of the year, but neither Xuan nor Thang had commented on the matter publicly until now.

Thang, 47, had been divorced once before starting his relationship with Xuan, 35.

He is known for his wealth as the owner of some of his country's largest koi fish farms. He's also famous for being the only Vietnamese judge at the 50th All Japan Nishikigoi Show in 2019.

Xuan is a bolero singer who has won various singing contests in Vietnam. She emigrated to the U.S. in 2010.

The couple first met each other in April 2021 through mutual connections. They held a wedding ceremony in May 2022.
