Indonesian man Johan Wijaya was sentenced to eight months’ jail for filming intimate sessions of him and 76 women without their consent.

Wijaya, who live in Singapore, on Tuesday pleaded guilty to five counts of voyeurism and admitted hiding a camera inside his power bank charger to film the women he met through dating applications, according to the South China Morning Post.

His crime has been uncovered after a 25-year-old woman, who got to know him through a dating app, filed a report to the police accusing him of filming her with his mobile phone. During the resulting investigation, the police found a total of 391 videos stored in his laptop, of which 336 included voyeuristic elements.

Wijaya, 32, then admitted in court that every time he met a woman online, he asked if she was open to having a casual relationship before scheduling to meet her in person at his home or a budget hotel if she said yes.

While the women took a shower before the sexual intercourse, Wijaya would position his power bank charger, which was bought in 2017 and used to film ever since, to face the bed.

Most of the women, including the 25-year-old one who reported him, did not realize they were being filmed as the charger did not emit any lights.
