Defender Vu Van Thanh is enjoying a great 2023 so far with wins in his career, finances and love life.

Thanh started 2023 by signing a three-year contract with V. League club Cong An Ha Noi (CAHN). It is said that he signed for VND100 million ($4,208) per month, with a bonus of VND4 billion per season.

Thanks to the deal, Thanh has begun purchasing high-value assets.

At the end of July, he hosted a housewarming party at a newly purchased apartment in HCMC. This duplex at the high-end apartment complex in District 2 cost nearly VND10 billion.

Since Thanh is living in Hanoi, he bought the apartment as an investment and is currently renting it out.

In June, Thanh bought a Porsche Macan S at a listing price of about VND4.3 billion in Hanoi.

The Porsche was involved in an accident and rammed a traffic light pole in Hung Yen City a few days ago. The front of the vehicle was utterly demolished, but the 27-year-old defender’s insurance paid for all repairs.

Not just doing well financially, Thanh is also in love.

After he broke up with his ex-girlfriend in late 2020, Thanh went quiet about his love life for some time.

However, in April, the defender caught attention when he posted a photo of him locking lips with a girl. Although Thanh didn’t reveal her face, fans quickly discovered her identity. Thanh’s new girlfriend is Le Ngoc Anh, who lives in HCMC and works at a bank.

Under coach Park Hang-seo (2017-2022), Thanh was the number one choice on the right flank of the starting lineup. He helped the team finish second at the 2018 U23 Asian Cup, fourth at the 2018 Asian Games and he anchored the team when they made it to the final qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup. Unfortunately, he missed Vietnam’s victory of the 2018 AFF Cup title due to injury.

At the end of last year, Thanh decided to part ways with his childhood club Hoang Anh Gia Lai after 15 years without a league title. He set a lot of expectations when joining CAHN, a rookie club exhibiting great ambition by recruiting a series of top players from the national team.

2023 will be perfect for Thanh if CAHN wins the V. League. The club from the capital are in a good position to do so as they’re already leading the 2023 V. League with 34 points, two more than Hanoi FC and Viettel FC. Thanh is one of the two top scorers for the team with three goals, equal to midfielder Le Van Do.
