A woman in Las Vegas has been charged for stealing a suitcase that contained items with total value of US$64,000 from a foreign tourist while he was asleep.

She was released on bail and her case is due for a status check on Jan. 9, 2024, according to the arrest warrant released earlier this week from Las Vegas Metropolitan police.

The woman has been charged with grand larceny with value of up to $100,000, residential burglary, and engaging in prostitution or solicitation.

Police said the theft took place at the Westin Hotel and Spa as the Chinese tourist complained he woke up in his hotel room at around 11 a.m. and discovered his suitcase which contained his credit cards, a Hublot watch worth of $50,000 and cash had gone, Las Vegas News site reported.

The victim told police he met two women early that morning and invited them to have drinks in his hotel room at the Westin.

He took a picture of the two women, which he later shared with police.

Police tracked down surveillance video, showing the women walking along Flamingo Road with the suitcase after leaving the hotel. It also showed them getting into a cab.

The second woman has yet to be identified, police said.
