A tourist from China cried and expressed her fears after seeing a flock of pigeons at Maxwell Food Center in Singapore and claimed she would never return to the city state.

In a video clip posted on social media site Xiaohongshu on April 15, the tourist said when she was eating at the food court, a pigeon came close to her, and she could see all kinds of pigeons there.

She described the food court as "a huge breeding ground for pigeons."

"I felt like dying when the pigeon came close to me, and I couldn’t take it when it chased after me," she cried with her red eyes in the video that attracted over 1,000 likes and comments.

She praised Singapore a "very beautiful city" but it is not suitable for those who have a phobia of birds.

However, many commented she had exaggerated her fears and defamed Singapore’s reputation.

"Singapore is not the only country to have large number of pigeons, please don’t tarnish it," one wrote.

"I know bloggers need to gain traffic but the sentence ‘I would never return to Singapore’ is really not friendly to Singaporean citizens," another wrote.
